A local wedding and event planning company recently utilized our full-service technician setup service for a dual-display presentation in downtown Vancouver. The booking required independent media feeds to be shown simultaneously in a single ballroom at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in Downtown Vancouver.
The Goal: Twin Displays with Independent Content
The event layout called for two presentation screens to be placed directly next to each other in the same room, each using a short-throw and a long-throw projector. Rather than mirroring the same image, each screen needed to display distinct content, one dedicated to high-definition video playback and the other running a PowerPoint slideshow. Because the displays sat side by side, the gear needed to be configured cleanly to prevent overlapping projections or cluttered floor space.
The Custom Projection Package Setup
To handle the unique layout and separate media streams, we delivered a mixed-projection system tailored to the venue’s space:
- High Lumen Projector: A 1080p, 5000-lumen projector paired with a 68″ x 120″ medium fast-fold screen. This setup included a professional black dress kit to conceal the frame and provide a clean corporate look.
- Short-Throw Projector: A 1080p, 3000-lumen short-throw projector paired with an 80″ tripod screen and a dedicated equipment stand. Using a short-throw unit allowed the second display to operate close to the screen surface without casting shadows.
On-Site Setup and Technical Production
Our technician handled the transportation, full assembly, and calibration of both screen systems directly at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. By managing the physical setup and mapping out the extended video lines on-site, our team handled all the technical logistics. This allowed the event planning team to stay completely focused on managing their clients and hosting the event without worrying about hardware issues.
