Expert Audio Technician Services: APF Canada Panel

Organizations often invest in their own high-quality audio equipment but lack the in-house expertise to operate it effectively during critical events. Vancouver Projector Rentals was recently contracted by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) to provide professional technician services for a high-level panel discussion at their Vancouver office.

The Goal: Professional Operation of In-House Gear

The client possessed a robust inventory of audio gear, including wired microphones and a digital mixer, but needed a professional audio engineer to ensure the event ran smoothly. The objective was to support a “Five Eyes” panel discussion featuring multiple speakers and audience Q&A, ensuring crystal-clear audio without feedback or technical interruptions.

The Technician Solution

Since this was a labour-only service, our value lay entirely in technical expertise and logistical support:

  • System Integration: Our technician managed the setup of the client’s five wired microphones and two wireless floating microphones, adapting quickly when the floor plan shifted from a roundtable to a panel format.
  • Mixer Management: While the client owned a digital mixer, they lacked a specific control interface. We brought our own laptop pre-loaded with the necessary mixing software to control their system wirelessly, along with a backup analog mixer to guarantee zero downtime.
