Vancouver Projector Rentals recently coordinated a comprehensive multi-zone audio-visual installation for a FIFA World Cup watch party at the Bow & Stern restaurant in Brentwood, Burnaby, BC. The event required synchronized video streaming and high-impact audio distributed across eight distinct areas of the venue: the lounge, the six dining rooms, and the outdoor patio with two LED Video Walls and six 4K TVs.
The Goal: Synchronized Broadcast Across Multiple Zones
The primary objective was to transform a multi-room restaurant layout into an immersive viewing environment for the FIFA World Cup Games. The setup needed to stream a live game broadcast simultaneously to multiple displays, ensuring high visibility in both indoor restaurant lighting and outdoor daylight. Additionally, the audio system required integration with the venue’s house PA to broadcast commentary and custom playlists throughout the entire space. Vancouver Projector Rentals successfully delivered this integration and provided all the necessary cables and adapters.
The Custom Large Screen Equipment Layout
To achieve full coverage across the lounge, dining rooms, and patio, Vancouver Projector Rentals deployed a high-performance array of display and audio gear, including one indoor Large LED Wall in the lounge area, two 75” 4K TVs, two 55” 4K TVs, two 43” 4 TVs, all with stands in the dinning spaces and one outdoor LED Wall in the restaurant patio:
- Dual 10′ x 6′ P2.9 LED Video Walls: One ground-supported modular LED wall was built indoors, while a second high-brightness LED wall was assembled on the patio to combat daylight ambient glare.
- Commercial 4K Ultra HD TVs: Multiple 75″, 55″ and 43” 4K displays mounted on heavy-duty rolling TV stands were strategically positioned to ensure every seat had a clear line of sight.
- Multi-Zone Sound Reinforcement: High-output JBL EON 715s on stands provided dedicated audio for the LED wall zones.
- Signal Management: An analog mixer and direct injection (DI) boxes handled audio feeds, connecting directly to the venue’s integrated house sound via specialized RCA and AUX lines.
Long-Distance Video Distribution via SDI
Standard HDMI cables quickly lose signal integrity over long distances, making them unreliable for large layouts. Because the displays were spread across three separate zones up to 50 feet apart, our team engineered the signal distribution using professional SDI (Serial Digital Interface) cables and HDMI-to-SDI adapters. This heavy-duty cabling allowed us to run hundreds of feet of video lines through the restaurant without any signal degradation, latency, or dropouts, ensuring a perfectly synchronized 4K broadcast on every single display.
Turnkey Delivery and On-Site Technical Support
Because of the complexity of linking multiple 4K displays and modular LED panels across separate rooms, this project utilized a full technician service package: six professional AV technicians for setup, one technician on-site during the entire event to ensure everything ran smoothly, and four technicians for teardown.
In a busy, high-traffic hospitality space, presentation is everything. Our crew meticulously organized every cable run to keep the venue clean and visually presentable. All lines were safely taped down along walkways to eliminate tripping hazards and neatly tacked along walls to blend seamlessly into the restaurant’s architecture.
Due to the high-profile nature of the live broadcast, dedicated on-site technicians remained at the venue for the duration of the event. The crew managed the live video feeds, controlled audio levels between the broadcast commentary and guest playlists during commercial breaks, and executed a swift teardown immediately following the event.
